Our Mission

Our mission is to provide the public with free comprehensive, current and accurate information and referrals that address health and human service needs.

2-1-1 Northwest Florida is a program of the United Way of Escambia County -- believing that information and referral is a core infrastructure that supports all the agencies that in turn support our citizens.

We work to make service and resource searching easy - to help you, your neighbor or the social service professional. Our staff is also trained to stimulate the development of individual problem-solving concepts educate the public on alternatives to the crisis response.

In 2008 we expanded our hours to include weekends. In April of 2009 our call center expanded services to callers from Bay, Calhoun, Jackson, Gulf, Holmes, and Washington Counties. February 11, 2011 we converted from First Call For Help to a 2-1-1 (24/7 service to Escambia County). In 2012 we received approval from FLAIRS to expand the 2-1-1 service area to a total of nine counties--Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Bay, Calhoun, Jackson, Gulf, Holmes and Washington.

In 2014 we began providing full 2-1-1 services to 7 counties by partnering with significant affiliations like local health departments to improve access to care. We now only serve Escambia, Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson and Washington counties.
