Free Food Distribution August 21 in Bay County

On August 21, the Fellowship Church of Praise will be partnering with the Bay Area Food Bank to distribute 5,000 lbs. of free food to low-income families and individuals. The distribution will take place from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Daffin Park in Panama City. Each family or individual can take home one box of food on the distribution day. Call First Call for Help

Parents who are seeking childcare information can call the Childcare Resource and Referral (CCRR) extension of the First Call for Help phone lines. CCRR specialists will use your family's information to create a list of childcare providers especially for you. If you need assistance in paying for childcare, this phone line can help determine if your family qualitifes. Call the CCRR line at (850) 595-5915

Tools for Schools

The United Way of Northwest Florida and Publix have partnered and are operating a school supply drive called "Tools for Schools" in Bay County. The drive has been running since mid-July and will continue until August 2nd. The items collected will be distributed to Title I schools in the Bay County area only. Items may be donated at Publix supermarkets in the area.

11th Annual Cram the Van School Supply Drive

The 11th Annual Cram the Van School Supply Drive will be operating again this year to help ensure that children in our community are receiving the school supplies they need to succeed. This program is sponsored by Sandy Sansing Dealerships, the United Way, and WEAR-TV3. To receive supplies from this drive, parents should contact their child's classroom teacher on the first day of school.

The Emergency Financial Assistance for Housing Program (EFAHP)

The Emergency Financial Assistance Program of the Department of Children and families is currently accepting applications. This program provides a one-time $400 grant to families with an emergency need that can not pay rent or rental deposits. Clients may call 1-(877)-891-6445 for more information or to request an application over the phone. Clients may also pick up an application at the United Way of Escambia County, located at 1301 W.
